Why Chapel Hill families choose Leslie

A short drive, a real relationship

I'm Leslie Dykstra, a certified early childhood specialist with 10+ years working with young learners. Chapel Hill sits just south of the Williamson County line, near Henry Horton State Park, and while it's technically outside the county I'm based in, it's an easy trip up Highway 431 to our Arrington studio — and I'm glad to make it in the other direction for in-home visits too.

A lot of the families I've met from Chapel Hill and the surrounding countryside value the same things I do: faith, family, and a slower pace where kids get to be kids. Tutoring doesn't have to feel like an extension of a stressful school day — it can be one-on-one time where a child gets to be fully seen and fully known.

Whether your child is just learning their letters or working to close a reading gap before it grows, we start with an honest look at where they are today and build a plan from there — one session, one milestone at a time.

Do you work with homeschool families near Chapel Hill?

Yes. A number of families I tutor near Chapel Hill and Henry Horton State Park homeschool, and one-on-one tutoring pairs naturally with a homeschool schedule since sessions move at your child's pace, not a classroom's.
