Faith-based, 1-on-1 early childhood tutoring for ages 3–8 in College Grove and the surrounding countryside. Sessions available in your home, at our studio in Arrington, or online.
College Grove families are often a bit further from town, so I build sessions around your drive time and schedule — not the other way around.
Play-based sessions that build letter recognition, phonics foundations, fine motor skills, pre-writing, and number sense — the building blocks for everything that follows.
Learn more →Academic and social-emotional preparation for the kindergarten transition — letters, sounds, numbers, attention, and the confidence to walk in on day one ready to learn.
Learn more →Reading comprehension, phonics fluency, writing structure, and math reasoning for 1st and 2nd graders — closing gaps before they define a child's academic story.
Learn more →I'm Leslie Dykstra, a certified early childhood specialist with 10+ years working with young learners across Williamson County. College Grove's country roads and horse farms feel a world away from the busier parts of the county, and I love that about it — it's a genuinely peaceful place to raise a child.
College Grove is a bit further out than some of the areas I serve, but it's still a manageable drive from our Arrington studio, and I'm glad to come to you for in-home sessions too. Many of the families I work with here are homeschooling or blending homeschool with co-op days, and one-on-one tutoring fits naturally into that rhythm — no classroom pacing, no waiting for the rest of the group.
Whether your child is just starting to sound out letters or working through a stubborn reading gap, we start with where they actually are and build from there — patiently, and with a plan you can see working.
Meet Leslie →Yes. College Grove is a short drive from our Arrington studio, and I regularly come to College Grove families for in-home sessions as well. Online sessions are also available for families who prefer them.
Absolutely. Many College Grove families I work with are homeschooling or considering it. Sessions are one-on-one and built around your child, whether they attend a classroom, are homeschooled, or haven't started school at all yet.
We start with a free 15-minute conversation about your child, then an assessment to understand exactly where they are. From there, we build a plan tailored to their age, personality, and goals.
